Road Shower - First Look

A new item on the Aussie market, the Road Shower allows you to carry close to 30 litres of water on your car roof rack for showering, washing muddy bikes and a host of other applicationsThe body is manufactured from powder coated aluminium with full-length slots for the mounting bolts. This affords good flexibility when fitting the 1,435cm long reservoir to your car.

Water is delivered via a 1.4 metre long hose and the standard garden hose style fittings mean you can use it with a range of attachments.

While fluids will naturally flow out of the Road Shower under gravity, the chamber can also be pressurised via a schrader valve with a relief valve that cuts in at 20psi. Once inflated, the added power will help with bike washing and provides a proper shower (albeit a fairly brief one).

With its matte black finish and roof-mounted position, it also attracts plenty of heat which allows it to act as a solar shower. The food grade hose means it can be used for drinking water too.

All-up the Road Shower weighs around 7kg or 25kg when full. Blue Globe is the Australian distributor and the Road Shower sells for $500. http://blueglobe.com.au/road-shower.html
