Christchurch Adventure Park

Christchurch Adventure Park remains on track and this week contractors began to install the chairlift towers. The high speed chairlift will be able to transport up to 1,200 visitors per hour and also features specially made bike racks.

It will take people to the top of the Port Hills where you’ll be able to plummet back down on one of the many trails that are being built for the project. At 1.8km in length with 430m of elevation gain, it’s said to be the longest chairlift in the southern hemisphere.

The project includes around 100km of MTB trails as well as a custom built four-leg zip line tour, a huge ‘mountain rollercoaster’ and links that connect to the Crater Rim walking tracks.

The Christchurch Adventure Park is expected to be open by December 2016.
