Intense announces new Aussie distributor

Intense Cycles has commenced its consumer-direct program for Australian buyers, announcing that Sydney-based motorsport distributor V-Sport will take over distribution of the brand from January this year.

Online sales are open via the brand’s local website, while its retailer group – including dealers like For The Riders, Venture Cycles and Pump n Pedals in Queensland, The Bicycle Entrepreneur in WA, Cyclery Northside, Ventoux Cycles and Bike Culture in NSW and ACT, Chain Brain, Total Rush and Cyclehouse in Victoria, Bike Bug in SA, and Bike Ride in Tasmania – will remain unchanged.

“With the launch of this program, the opportunity was there for V-Sport to integrate the previously Direct Dealer model in Australia into their overall business whilst supporting the established dealers in Australia,” said the company in a statement.

Intense’s Australian marketing manager Andy Threlfall told MBA that bikes are currently en route to V-Sport, and customer orders will be fulfilled by early February at the latest.

While this is V-Sport’s first venture into the bicycle space, the company also imports GoPro into Australia. It will warehouse and distribute bikes from Arndell Park in Sydney’s west.

A quick browse of the local site reveals a host of 2018 bikes for sale, as well as 2017 models on clearance. Bikes can be sent to a dealer for free collection, or shipped directly for $150 per bike.
