Specialized launches ‘lightest ever’ hardtail

Specialized have pulled no punches with their latest bike release, declaring the New Epic Hardtail the ‘lightest production hardtail chassis’ on the market.


Boasting a weight of just 775 grams (Medium S-Works frame), the Epic HT certainly backs up its designers’ claim.

Building on the foundations of the original Epic HT, the updated version features the following improvements:

- Altering geometry for a lower fork offset of 42mm and shorter stems (60-75mm)

- Arced seat tube design, allowing for a full-length dropper posts if desired

- An increased tyre clearance (good news for XC riders)

- A refined mix of fibre and resin in the frame to reduce weight
