Giant release new hardtail XTC 29 range

One of the biggest mountain bike brands has announced a new range to its stable in the form of the XtC 29.

The range from Giant will include two new series: the XtC Advanced SL 29 and the XtC Advanced 29 as the popular hardtail undergoes significant changes.

The framesets have been engineered to be lighter and more responsive for the XC field with each frame custom-tuned according to size with individual composite lay-up schedules optimizing vertical compliance without compromising frame stiffness.

This is reflected in the Advanced SL 29’s frame weight of 920 grams while the Advanced 29 comes in at 995 grams compared to 1259 grams for previous models.

Both series have a 100mm suspension fork. Wheel performance is taken care of by boost hub spacing while Giant Tubeless technology is also present.

The Advanced SL 29 starts at $6,299 while the Advanced 29 is available for $3,699.
