New Look MBA!

We’re super excited about the next issue of Mountain Biking Australia. The upcoming magazine features a nose-to-tale redesign that brings in a whole new look for our 16th year of production.

We’ve taken reader feedback on-board and gone for a new design that’s modern, clean and simple. It provides a better showcase for inspiring MTB imagery whilst being easier to read with more white space that really allows the contents to breathe. The cover style is all-new too; it better reflects current values in mountain biking— from front to back it’s a sharp looking product.

What hasn’t wavered is our commitment to producing quality editorial content. As always we strive to be accurate, informative and relevant with content that goes beyond the ‘fluff pieces’ that are commonplace in the media these days.

The Feb/Mar/Apr issue tackles the topic of frame geometry, explaining what all the numbers mean and how they impact on your riding experience; it’s important stuff that can help you choose the bike that best suits your needs. We’ve got a tutorial on servicing cartridge bearing hubs that could save you money and provide the fulfilment that comes with knowing exactly how your bike works and what’s inside.

There’s tons of reviews too, including a three page feature on SRAM’s most affordable 1X11 drivetrain — SRAM NX. We look at the Race Face Turbine dropper, Spank’s new wide Oozy 345 Trail wheels and the super wide range e*Thirteen 11-speed cassette.

Test bikes include the Aussie designed Craftworks ENR; one of the most interesting bikes on the market with its unique i-Track suspension system. There’s also the new Santa Cruz Tallboy 3, the simple and affordable Fuji Reveal and the latest ‘plus’ tyred hardtail from Merida.

It’s not all about the bike gear either, we’ve got your body and soul covered too. We all know that stretching is important – it can help you to stay on the bike and injury-free – however most of us put it in the too hard basket as we don’t have time. With this in mind we’ve got a simple four-stretch routine that takes minimal time and can be done whilst watching TV of an evening — get onto it!

We’ve also got advice on how to gauge your effort and pedal more efficiently as well as some great destination ideas including the ever growing Hidden Vale network and some spectacular adventures in Bali.

The other thing to get excited about is the Ultimate Garage Giveaway. We have over $25,000 worth of bikes and gear up for grabs and you’ll see the full prize list in Mountain Biking Australia magazine.
