Round one of the Downhill World Cup series has been run and won and much of the talk surrounded the move to 29-inch wheels.

The Santa Cruz Syndicate was the first big team to roll up to the start line of a World Cup round with the big wheels and since then Mondraker has come out of the closet with Danny Hart racing a round of the British Downhill Series aboard a 29er.

This extended 18 minute video provides a look behind the pre-season testing that the Syndicate did, with riders like Greg Minnar, Loris Vergier and Luca Shaw offering their thoughts on the new V10 29er.

It certainly looks like an interesting World Cup race season ahead!
